Staff Engineer(Infrastructure)

What you'll do

• Design and build highly scalable, reliable, and secure distributed systems that power Postman's platform.
• Lead the technical architecture and development of core platform services, APIs, and developer tooling.
• Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, technical mentorship, and architectural guidance.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver impactful developer experiences.
• Identify and solve complex performance, scalability, and reliability challenges across the platform.
• Define technical roadmaps and influence long-term engineering strategy.
• Champion best practices around observability, security, testing, and operational excellence.
• Mentor senior engineers and foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience building large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Go, Node.js, Python, or similar.
• Deep expertise in system design, microservices architecture, cloud infrastructure, and API technologies.
• Experience designing highly available, fault-tolerant systems serving millions of users.
• Strong understanding of databases, caching, messaging systems, and performance optimization.
• Proven track record of leading technical initiatives across multiple teams.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.
